Mississippi NAACP President Derrick Johnson announced at a press conference Tuesday morning that an unknown number of voter registrations have gone missing in Hinds County, Mississippi, and urged voters to cast what is known as an affidavit ballot if they arrive at the polls and find that they are not listed. According to the Jackson Free Press, Johnson made the announcement at a press event promoting the NAACP’s Mississippi voter help line, a service designed to help voters fight irregularities and suspected wrongdoing at the polls.

Mysterious robo calls telling voters today: vote tomorrow – Central Florida Political Pulse –Orlando Sentinel

Reports are trickling in from people who’re receiving robo-calls today advising them to vote tomorrow.

At least two of them have come to Orlando residents, both of them Hispanic, raising suspicions about some group trying to confuse certain groups of voters into missing their voting chance, according to a watchdog group called Video the Vote.

People can vote today, not tomorrow.

One such person is Isham Padron, who lives in the Lockhart area of north-central Orange County. He got a call this morning telling him to vote tomorrow. Padron hung up before following the robo-call pitch very far.

He believes it was a voter supression tactic. He already voted, though, by absentee ballot, so it wouldn’t have mattered. But he wonders if anyone else might fall for it.

Earlier today there were reports of similar calls in the Tampa Bay area that were being attributed to the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections. Turns out the official office was making such calls. Oops.. The office’s automated equipment erroneously sent out hundreds of such calls this morning, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

The question is why this is happening. Rumor has it that GOP operatives who were going through the districts registering people this cycle threw away Dem applications. This is a crime. Hopefully Seth Williams will investigate aggressively. 

12,525 Pinellas voters get robocall from elections boss saying they have until ‘tomorrow’ to vote

Pinellas elections officials now say that 12,525 people were wrongly telephoned this morning with a message that they had until 7 p.m. “tomorrow” to turn in their absentee ballots.

By then, “tomorrow,” referred incorrectly to Wednesday.

Polls close at 7 p.m. tonight. Any ballots turned in after that time won’t count.

Reports of Possible Voter Suppression at Cincinnati Mother of Christ Church

I’ve received reports that behavior looking suspiciously like voter suppression is happening at precinct 24E in Cincinnati at Mother of Christ Church.

According to these reports, voters who come to Mother of Christ Church erroneously – and there are multiple polling locations on the same street so it’s easy to get confused – are being encouraged to fill out provisional ballots rather than being told where their correct precinct is.

In addition, my sources have multiple reports of people who are registered at that precinct being forced to fill out provisional ballots even if they’re on the books at the location and have correct ID on them.
